From the lab to the road: choosing the right formulation for each soil

Good engineering decisions start with data. Every soil treatment goes through a series of laboratory tests before it reaches the road, to confirm that the local soil can be stabilised and to increase its resistance to water, loads and deformation.

The samples

  • Reference sample: natural, untreated soil for comparison.
  • Treated samples: soil with different stabiliser doses.

Tests before stabilisation

Particle size analysis, water content, density, Atterberg limits and the CBR test describe the soil’s nature and behaviour.

Tests after stabilisation

Compressive strength / bearing capacity, density, CBR, water resistance and resistance to deformation — followed by a before/after performance comparison.

The long-term immersion test

Strength and hardness are measured before immersion and after defined periods in water, to compare how well the stabiliser keeps the soil cohesive — a simulation of the harshest rainy-season conditions.

The end goal

After analysis, comparison and evaluation, we select the optimal formulation for that specific soil. Our motto: we test in the laboratory… to succeed in the field.
